ACT Now! 2023
The ACT Now! 2023 conference was a ground-breaking event that brought together influential Black leaders, Black elders, Black youth, academics, advocates, funders, students, volunteers, and mental health professionals from across Canada to discuss and gather knowledge around the multifaceted mental health issues affecting Black communities.
Through the ACT Now!, participants got an opportunity to share their experiences, knowledge, and expertise, while learning, connecting, and advocating for Black mental health and wellness.
As part of its ongoing national knowledge mobilization initiative, TAIBU CHC used this opportunity to continue to create an online poll of knowledge which collected data from the
ACT Now! conference’s diverse participants across the country on certain demographic profiles such as identity, age, gender, sexual orientation, work sector, how the conference befitted them, etc.
This initiative has undoubtedly contributed to TAIBU’s effort of the Afrocentric knowledge-gathering principle by bringing additional voices within a shared space and time.
